Probability is a branch of mathematics that deals with the likelihood of different outcomes. It is used to quantify an attitude of mind towards some proposition of whose truth we are not certain. It allows us to predict the chance of an event happening, which can be a simple event, like tossing a coin, or a more complex event, like the probability of a certain team winning a football match.
